Auckland has a Chef de Partie opening for someone who is ready to run their own section. You will work alongside the Head Chef, Sous Chef and the wider kitchen team, covering preparation, service, stock and food quality so the whole kitchen runs smoothly.

Key Responsibilities
- Run the day-to-day preparation and operation of your assigned section
- Prepare, cook and plate dishes to a consistently high standard
- Complete mise en place and service prep for the day
- Work under the Head Chef and Sous Chef, showing initiative in your section
- Help with daily specials and seasonal menu preparation, and share ideas for menu development
- Use ingredients carefully, keeping quality high and food costs under control
- Prepare international-style dishes for a professional dining room
- Keep preparation areas clean, organised and ready for service, observing high standards of personal hygiene, food safety and sanitation
- Watch stock levels and pass ingredient needs to senior kitchen staff
- Receive, check and store deliveries, rotating stock across chillers, freezers and dry storage
- Reduce food waste through careful preparation, storage and stock management
- Stay efficient and composed in high-volume services
- Join team meetings, training, supplier visits and development activities
- Get to know local New Zealand ingredients and produce
- Speak courteously with guests when needed and build good working relationships in a multicultural team
- Help colleagues when the kitchen needs it and complete other reasonable duties from senior kitchen management
Requirements & Eligibility
- Professional experience as a Chef de Partie or in a similar commercial kitchen position
- Able to prepare and cook food to professional standards
- Practical experience managing an individual kitchen section
- Strong understanding of food preparation, kitchen hygiene, and food safety procedures
- Works independently while contributing well to a team
- Performs consistently in a fast-paced kitchen
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Reliable, professional and positive in approach
- Attention to detail and commitment to food quality, with a passion for culinary work and willingness to develop professionally
- Works respectfully within a multicultural team
- Good organisation and time-management skills
- Relevant culinary qualifications are advantageous
- Able to provide genuine and verifiable evidence of professional experience and claimed skills; applicants from overseas must satisfy applicable New Zealand employment, immigration, and sponsorship requirements
