Hospitality · Perth, WA, Australia · Full-Time · Discussed at interview · Visa: Employer sponsored

A Perth kitchen is looking for a cook or chef who is comfortable with fusion-style food and can keep pace from the first breakfast order to the last dinner plate. You will cook, plate and check quality, and you will help sort out who does what across the team on a given day.

It suits Malaysians who already work confidently with grills, fryers and ovens and want a Western Australian kitchen on their record.

Before applying, spend a few minutes on your CV. Note the kitchens you have run, the cuisines you cooked and the equipment you know best, then tidy up your fusion cook CV with Build AI CV so a hiring manager sees it in seconds.

Key Responsibilities

  • Cook and plate dishes for the breakfast, lunch and dinner menus to the kitchen's recipe and quality standards
  • Produce authentic fusion-style food, adjusting ingredients or preparation methods when a recipe calls for it
  • Set up cooking stations and prepare ingredients ahead of each service
  • Make sure knives, pans, scales and other tools are ready and in good order
  • Present finished dishes attractively and consistently, and modify a meal for a customer where it is reasonable to do so
  • Pass the day's specials and any kitchen updates on to the front-of-house team
  • Plan the daily kitchen tasks, hand out jobs to the team, and help supervise and train staff
  • Keep track of food stocks, flag what is running low and help place orders
  • Check freshness and quality through the shift, and throw out expired or unsuitable food following food safety procedures
  • Keep the kitchen clean, safe and orderly, and run commercial cooking equipment safely
