Christchurch is the location for this carpenter vacancy with a New Zealand-owned workforce company. It wants experienced Carpenters who have worked with different construction methods on commercial, residential or industrial jobs, and who can deliver accurate, quality work safely and efficiently alongside experienced construction teams.

Contracts are full-time with steady hours across short- and long-term projects, and permanent employment is possible later. Eligible candidates can access visa sponsorship opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out general carpentry, framing and fixing on a range of construction sites.
  • Do roofing work, covering installation, repairs and maintenance.
  • Measure, cut, assemble and fit timber, framing, roofing materials and building components, including exterior cladding, architraves and steel stud work.
  • Follow construction drawings, plans, specifications and measurements.
  • Work safely and efficiently to a high standard.

Requirements & Eligibility

  • Relevant residential or commercial construction experience is needed, together with a strong work history and references backing up your experience and standard of work.
  • Ideally, experience in general carpentry, framing, fixing, roofing, exterior cladding, architraves and steel stud work, plus reading construction drawings, plans, specifications and measurements.
  • Advantageous: Site Safe and other relevant trade tickets and licences; also advantageous, your own hand and power tools.
  • Advantageous: a Drivers license and your own vehicle.
