Auckland cafes run on good shift leaders, and this full-time Cafe Duty Manager role is for someone who can keep coffee, food, stock and the team all moving at once. You will oversee service on each shift, coordinate colleagues, deal with customer questions calmly and keep the place clean and well stocked.

Key Responsibilities
- Run the day-to-day cafe operation and keep service welcoming and professional through every shift
- Coordinate the team, hand out duties and support colleagues during busy trading periods
- Supervise the till, sales and payments, and handle customer questions and concerns professionally
- Oversee coffee, drinks and food preparation, and coffee product packing, to the required quality and presentation
- Watch cleanliness, hygiene and stock levels, and restock shelves, displays and supplies
- Help with opening, closing and other daily procedures, and keep service and work areas organised
- Help train team members, keep service standards up and follow food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety rules
- Conduct yourself professionally and represent the business well with customers
Requirements & Eligibility
- Previous cafe, hospitality, customer service or supervisory experience is preferred
- Demonstrated experience supporting or coordinating daily cafe operations
- Barista and coffee preparation skills are a strong advantage
- Proven ability to give reliable, consistent and professional customer service
- Clear communication and strong interpersonal skills
- Able to lead and support a hospitality team and work well within it
- Confident taking responsibility for operational tasks and making decisions independently
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn and take on extra responsibilities
- Strong work ethic, reliability and professional integrity, with good personal presentation and conduct
- Able to manage several responsibilities in a busy, customer-facing setting
- Understanding of food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety requirements
- Available for both weekend days or at least one Sunday
- Genuine, verifiable hospitality experience and employment history
- Must satisfy applicable New Zealand employment and visa requirements
