Key Responsibilities
- Cut men's, women's and children's hair to a high standard in both classic and contemporary styles
- Talk with each customer first so you understand the cut and style they want
- Trim, shape and groom beards, and offer wet shaving where you are skilled to do so
- Keep your cutting, styling and finishing consistent, with close attention to detail on every service
- Suggest hair care and grooming products that suit the customer
- Keep the workstation clean, hygienic and organised, and follow workplace health, safety and hygiene procedures
- Give friendly, professional service and build good relationships with new and returning customers
- Work well alongside other barbers and hairdressers, and keep a professional personal presentation
- Take part in training and professional development, and add to a positive, team-focused workplace
Requirements & Eligibility
- A relevant Barbering or Hairdressing qualification is preferred
- Practical experience in a salon or barbershop that you can demonstrate
- Strong technical ability in both traditional and modern haircutting
- Able to work confidently with different hair types and customer requirements
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, and a strong customer service mindset
- A professional appearance and personal presentation
- A reliable, positive and motivated attitude, with good attention to detail
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Willing to learn new techniques and keep developing professionally
- Shaving and beard-grooming experience is advantageous
- Apprentices with suitable practical training may also be considered
- Applicants must be able to provide genuine and verifiable qualifications and employment history
- Candidates must meet applicable Australian employment and visa requirements
- Onshore candidates are preferred
