A multi-brand dealership in Tamworth, NSW, is hiring an Automotive Technician for its modern workshop. You will handle diagnostics, servicing, repairs and inspections on passenger and used vehicles, working beside an experienced team on stable Monday-to-Friday hours.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose mechanical and electronic faults using professional diagnostic equipment
  • Handle routine, logbook and scheduled servicing
  • Repair a variety of passenger vehicles and brands, including warranty repairs to manufacturer specifications
  • Carry out pre-delivery inspections and relevant safety checks
  • Use repair manuals, technical information and wiring diagrams to solve problems
  • Record completed repairs accurately in the workshop software
  • Flag any extra repairs needed and explain them clearly to the service team
  • Follow dealership procedures, safety standards and manufacturer guidelines, keeping your area clean and organised
  • Attend technical training on new vehicle systems and repair methods, and support other technicians and apprentices

Requirements & Eligibility

  • Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent recognised qualification
  • Valid Motor Mechanic Trade Licence
  • Minimum 2–3 years of relevant hands-on automotive experience
  • Practical experience in servicing, diagnostics and mechanical repairs across different vehicle brands and models
  • Understanding of automotive technical manuals, wiring diagrams and OEM procedures
  • Experience with manufacturer warranty repair processes is advantageous
  • Competent with diagnostic scan tools and workshop management systems
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accurate workmanship; reliable, punctual and a good team player
  • Valid Australian driver's licence, preferably with manual driving capability, plus evidence supporting your relevant qualifications and employment experience
